Chautauqua Performance of Henry Clay

Henry Clay, “The Great Compromiser,” was a remarkable figure in American history. Born in 1777 during the revolution, he served as Kentucky State Representative, Speaker of the House, Secretary of State, and United States Senator, but never achieved the presidency. Despite this, his oratory skills and diplomatic talents helped keep the Union intact during the Civil War. Clay’s legacy as a unifying force may very well have saved our nation. Listen to his story and enjoy a light snack at our Event Barn.  Doors open at 5:45pm and performance begins at 6:30pm.  For catering purposed, reservations are required no later than Jan. 31st.
