Join us for an enchanting evening celebrating the life and legacy of Loretta Lynn, Kentucky's iconic “Queen of Country Music.”
Born in Butcher Holler, Kentucky, the daughter of a coal miner, Loretta Lynn rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most influential voices in American music. In this moving first-person portrayal, Loretta shares her journey through poverty, heartbreak, resilience, and determination—from a borrowed guitar and small-town performances to the Grand Ole Opry and country music stardom.
With fearless honesty and Appalachian grit, she reflects on the stories behind her groundbreaking songs, which gave voice to working-class women and tackled themes of marriage, motherhood, ambition, and heartache with unapologetic candor. From “I’m a Honky Tonk Girl” to her defining anthem “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” Loretta’s story is one of perseverance, authenticity, and staying true to her roots.
You won't want to miss this evening of powerful storytelling, rich Kentucky history, and great wine in the vineyard, a celebration of a woman whose music told real stories that still matter.
This program was funded in part by Kentucky Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
