This unforgettable evening brings to life how this legendary coach helped turn Kentucky basketball into a way of life. During his 42 years coaching the UK men’s basketball team, Rupp elevated the game to near-mythic status across the Commonwealth. His teams won 880 games, four national championships, and even an Olympic gold medal—cementing Kentucky basketball as a statewide passion. But Rupp’s story also includes controversy, criticism, and pivotal moments that shaped the program and the state forever.
